How much boost is required to generate the horsepower that you need? This calculates the boost (psi) to achieve a nominated horsepower target based on your engines specifications and maximum rpm. Great when planning a new turbo kit or intercooler to see if it can achieve your goals.

variable | description |
cubic inches | the total cubic inches of displacement of the engine |
maximum rpm | the maximum rpm of the engine |
volumetric efficiency | the volumetric efficiency is a measure of the efficiency of the engine moving the intake charge into the chamber and the exhaust out. Typical values are as follows: 2 valve head – 80% 4 valve head – 88% it is not unusual however to have VE’s of 95% or more in correctly built race engines |
target horsepower | the required flywheel horsepower of the engine |
boost | required psi of boost to achieve the horsepower target |
